Biography
Christophe Rupp-Dahlem graduated in chemical engineering at University of Lille (ENSCL) in 1983 and then spent fifteen months as a navel officer on a mine-clearance vessel.
At the end of 1985, he joined Henkel France as technical support manager for the industrial detergency market and then from 1988 to 1990 was employed by Klopman International (Group Dominion Textile) as a Business Manager.
In 1990 Christophe Rupp-Dahlem joined Roquette at their worldwide headquarters in Lestrem, Northern France. At Roquette he has held a number of positions within the non-food segment. His current role as Programs Director is to manage the innovative programs related to the vegetal-based chemistry. One of these programs is the umbrella program called BioHub® (www.biohub.fr) and supported by the French Agency for Industrial Innovation (OSEO Innovation). The object of the BioHub® programme is to develop with industrial and scientific partners new production outlets for chemicals based on renewable agricultural raw materials such as grain.
Christophe Rupp-Dahlem is a member of several scientific associations and groups, including the European Renewable Raw Materials Association (ERRMA), EUROPABIO (the European Association for Bio Industries) and the European Commission LMI Biobased Product Working Group. Since May 2008, Christophe Rupp-Dahlem is President of the Vegetal Based Association created on the French chemistry and agro-industries initiative (www.chimieduvegetal.com).
